Purpose & Location This reference outlines the requirements for making datasets available as selectable options within the Menu Defaults Admin screen. The visibility of these datasets is controlled at the property level within the Forecast Admin screen.
The Data: Visibility Settings
Use this table to understand the specific setting that controls dataset visibility in the mode dropdown menus.
Setting | Location | Definition / Function |
|---|---|---|
Show Dataset in Report? | Forecast Admin > [Select Dataset] | This checkbox determines whether a dataset will populate as an available "mode" option in the Menu Defaults Admin dropdown menu. |
System Limits & Constraints
- The "All Properties" Rule: In order for a dataset to display in Menu Defaults Admin, the Show Dataset in Report option must be checked for all properties associated with that dataset.
- Missing Datasets: If even a single property (e.g., Courtyard Hillwood) has this setting unchecked for a specific dataset (like the Primary Forecast), the entire dataset will be hidden and unavailable for selection in Menu Defaults Admin.
- Resolution: To restore a missing dataset to the Menu Defaults Admin dropdown, you must return to the Forecast Admin screen and check the "Show Dataset in Report?" box for all properties under that dataset.
- The "All Roles" Rule: In order for a dataset to display in the Menu Defaults Admin, make sure that All Roles are selected under the Roles column for the dataset you want to be within the Menu Defaults Admin.
