The Hook:
- Use this workflow to manually create or configure cashiers so they appear on the Input Cash screen.
Prerequisites:
- Permissions: Requires access to the Accounting Admin menu.
- Tracking Preference: Determine if you are tracking cash by individual employees or by department.
- Configuration: Custom "Cashier Types" (e.g., beyond the default Front Desk, Restaurant, AR, and Arcade) must be created by ProfitSword Support before they can be assigned.
The Steps:
- Navigate to the Accounting menu and select Accounting Admin > Cashiers.
- Click the Options icon and set the status to ALL to view both active and inactive cashiers.
- Verify if the cashier already exists from a labor import. (Note: If they exist, do not add a duplicate; proceed to step 8 to configure after locating the Inactive cashier under the listing of inactive users (Options Icon and change status to Inactive)).
- Click Add in the bottom left corner to create a new cashier.
- Enter a consistent identifier in the Employee ID field.
- Enter the cashier or department name in the Name field.
- Click the Save icon in the upper left corner to return to the main configuration screen.
- Check the Is Active? box next to the new or existing cashier.
- Select the Edit Icon to add a Location to link the cashier to positions or timecodes from your payroll import (Optional).
- Select the Edit Icon and Check the white boxes under Type(s) to assign where the user can drop cash (e.g., Front Desk, AR).
- Click the Save icon before exiting the screen.
The Result:
- Success: The cashier's name will now appear as a selectable option on the Daily > Input Cash screen.
Troubleshooting:
- Cashier not showing on Input Cash screen: Ensure the Is Active? box is checked and that you have selected at least one cashier Type in the setup screen
