The Hook: Use this workflow to broadcast announcements and information to users via the dashboard Splash Screen widget.
Prerequisites:
- Requires Corporate Admin permissions.
- Note: Users must have the Splash Screen Widget added to their default dashboard to view these messages.
The Steps:
- Navigate to Admin Menu > Administrative Tools.
- Select Splash Message Screen.
- Click the Add (+) icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter a Subject for the new line item.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon to type the detailed message, then click the Green Checkmark to accept.
- (Optional) Enter a Border Color or Text Color to highlight the message.
- Note: You can use standard color names (e.g., "red", "blue") or hex codes.
- Click the Save icon to publish the message.
The Result:
- Success: The new message appears in the Splash Screen widget on user dashboards.
Troubleshooting & Common Scenarios:
- Deleting Messages: To remove a message, click the Delete (trash can) icon next to the appropriate line, then click Save to confirm.
- Changing Display Order: Enter a number in the Sort Column to control the order of messages. By default, the newest messages appear at the top.
- Color Reference: Valid text inputs for colors include: aqua, black, blue, fuchsia, gray, green, lime, maroon, navy, olive, purple, red, silver, teal, white, and yellow.
- Widget Visibility: If a user reports they cannot see the message, verify that their dashboard settings include the Splash Screen widget (set to view the last 3, 5, or 10 messages).
