PS: How to Copy Datasets in Forecast Admin

The Hook: Use this workflow to mass-copy data from one dataset to another (e.g., copying last year's actuals into next year's budget) to create a baseline for creating next year's budget.

Prerequisites:

• Requires Corporate Admin permissions to access Forecast Admin.
• The destination dataset must be set to "Editable".

The Steps:

• Navigate to Corporate Menu > Admin > Forecast Admin.
• Click the Copy link in the top right corner.
  1. Choose the Action:
     • Copy Data Only: Copies numbers only.
     • Copy Data and Notes: Copies numbers and commentary.
     • Copy Notes: Copies notes only.
     • Copy with Scale: Copies data and applies a percentage increase/decrease. This option will update and scale both the Amount and Stat for each Account.
  2. Select the Period(s) or Full Year to copy. 
  3. Select the Department(s) to copy.
  4. Select the Account Type(s) to copy.
  5. Select the Site(s) you wish to update from both the From Site and the To Site.
     • If selecting multiple sites, there is no need to select a To Site. The System will copy Site to Site.
  6. Select the From Dataset (Source) and the To Dataset (Destination).
  7. Select the From Year and To Year.
  8. Select Copy Data and Notes to start the copy process
  9. Click the green checkmark on the Confirmation Message to execute the job.

   

The Result Validation:

• Success: You can view the status of the copy process in the Jobs Monitor. Once complete, the target dataset reflects the source data.
